FC Samartex confirm transfer of Seidu Dauda to APR of Rwanda

Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex 1996 have confirmed the transfer of midfielder Seidu Dauda Yussif to Rwandan giants APR FC.

The Army club, keen on strengthening their team for continental competitions, secured the 23-year-old’s services on a two-year deal, with a rumoured transfer fee of $130,000.

Dauda’s exceptional form was instrumental in Samartex’s historic league title win, scoring three goals and providing five assists in 28 matches. His standout performances earned him a reputation as one of the top midfielders in the league.

General Manager of FC Samartex, Edmund Ackah, discussed the transfer in an interview with Oyerepa FM on Friday.

“There was an offer from Simba. They were desperate to sign Seidu Dauda, but we hesitated, and the deal fell through,” Ackah said.

“Then this one came within the span of a week. The APR officials were already in Ghana during our coronation.”

“The agreed transfer fee wasn’t up to our valuation, but we didn’t want to keep an unhappy player. He was keen on leaving, so to avoid problems, we dealt with APR,” Ackah added.

Dauda will work under new coach Darko Novic, the 52-year-old Serbian appointed just a week ago.

Ackah also clarified that Samartex has not received any interest in their players from local rivals like Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko.

“It’s only Simba and APR who have contacted us about our players,” he noted.
