The EU country refused to send its military to Ukraine

Estonia did not want to send its military to Ukraine

Estonia does not plan to send its troops to participate in military operations in Ukraine. This refusal was announced by the country’s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna in an interview with RND.

“I hope that the realization will prevail that it is much cheaper and safer to provide the Ukrainians with ammunition and weapons so that they can fight, rather than worry about whether we should invade or not. There are no plans for our troops to intervene,” he said.

The minister also emphasized that, despite the need to make non-standard decisions, Ukraine asks its allies not for military assistance, but for Western equipment and weapons. He also noted that he supports the discussion started by French President Emmanuel Macron, as it takes European countries to a “completely new level.”

At the end of February, Macron said that the military of EU countries could be sent to Ukraine. However, he later admitted that France does not yet have such plans.
