Putin and Erdogan exchanged congratulations in a telephone conversation

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, March 18, spoke by phone with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The politicians exchanged congratulations: Erdogan congratulated Putin on his landslide victory in the elections, and Putin, in turn, congratulated Erdogan and all Muslims in Turkey on the holy month of Ramadan.

The politicians discussed issues of strengthening international stability and security, including the Black Sea region. The presidents of the two states confirmed their mutual commitment to further close cooperation in the interests of developing multifaceted Russian-Turkish relations.

At the end of the conversation, Putin and Erdogan agreed to continue maintaining dialogue in various formats.

Meanwhile in Turkey preparing for the official visit of Vladimir Putin. It was announced at the end of 2023, but the exact dates are still unknown, although both Moscow and Istanbul have repeatedly confirmed that the trip will take place.

A source from the Turkish presidential administration assured that Putin’s visit could take place in mid-April or early May. Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to become more diplomatic after the local elections will increase significantly.
