Legendary 90s rock band reunite for greatest hits tour nine years after frontman’s tragic death

STONE Temple Pilots and Live are reuniting later this year for their very own Jubilee Tour.

The two bands, which shot to fame in the 90s, will be back on stage headlining around North America later this year to celebrate their iconic albums Purple and Throwing Cooper.

The Jubilee Tour will be from August to September

The Jubilee Tour will kick start in Concord in August and wrap up in Indianapolis the following month.

They will be joined by Soul Asylum and Our Lady Peace throughout the tour.

The groups shared the news on social media and fans are over the moon with the news.

One wrote on Instagram: “soooo excited.”

A second said: “FINALLY!!!”

A third chimed in: “Amazing line up.”

“I can’t believe it!!!,” a fourth confessed.

Stone Temple Pilots shot to fame in the 90s, originally made up of Scott Weiland, Dean and Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz. 

The band were together between 1989 and 2003. They reunited in 2008 and have been together ever since.

Over the years they’ve released eight studio albums including Purple, Core, No.4 and most recently, Perdida.

The group currently consists of Dean, Robert Erc and Jeff Gutt.

Scott left the band in 2013.

They lost lead vocalist Scott Weiland when he passed away aged 48 in 2015 while on tour.

Meanwhile Ed Kowalczyk, Patrick Dahlheimer, Chad Gracey and Chad Taylor originally made up Live.

They were together until 2009, but then reunited in 2012.

Ed is currently the only member in the band right now.

Over the years they released NINE studio albums inclduing Throwing Copper, V, Birds of Pray and The Turn.
