Jamie Carragher calls out three ’embarrassing’ Man Utd players for what they did moments after Crystal Palace defeat

Jamie Carragher slated three Manchester United players for what they did moments after losing to Crystal Palace.

Man United’s hopes of playing European football next season suffered a huge blow as they were thrashed 4-0 by Palace on Monday evening.

Erik ten Hag’s side were a shambles from start to finish at Selhurst Park, with a patchwork defence and midfield making things easy for Palace’s in-form attacker.

Michael Olise opened the scoring early on with a superb solo goal, although makeshift United centre-back Casemiro made his life easier by mis-timing his attempted tackle.

Jean-Philippe Mateta rifled in a second after breezing past Jonny Evans, before Tyrick Mitchell poked home and Olise smashed in a fourth after another Casemiro howler.

After the full-time whistle, Sky Sports Monday Night Football host David Jones and pundits Jamie Carragher and Ashley Young watched the United players leave the pitch after applauding their supporters.

Carragher noticed three United stars – Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Antony – talking to each other with their hands covering their mouths, and he wasn’t impressed at all.

“Just get off the pitch,” Carragher said.

“Shut up and get in” 😡 @Carra23 was not happy with the Manchester United players at full-time 👀

“Talking, whispering behind your hand – you’ve just been absolutely awful. They are probably talking about one of the players – somebody else, the set-up or the manager. Just shut up and get in.

“You’ve been beaten 4-0. Whispering, talking about other players. Honestly, embarrassing.”

The result was United’s 13th defeat of the season, a new record for the club in a Premier League campaign.

Ten Hag’s side have now conceded 81 goals in all competitions this season, the most they have shipped in a single campaign since 1976-77.

The result leaves United eighth in the Premier League table on 54 points with three games left to play.

United are two points off sixth place – currently occupied by Newcastle – which would see them qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League
