MasterChef star John, 58 and his wife Lisa, 52, will return to ITV1 this autumn for 10 new episodes.

In a shake-up, the pair will also release a book to accompany the new series.

The new episodes will also see fan favourite themes return such as ‘Top Traybakes’, ‘Time Saving Treats’, ‘Simple But Special’ and ‘Fakeaway-tastic Feasts’.

Meanwhile, other new themes such as ‘Take 5’ will show an array of dishes using just five key ingredients, ‘Breezy Brunches’ for leisurely weekends and ‘In a Spin’ will provide a new take on some classic traditional meals.

Speaking about the recommission, John said: “We are back! We have been preparing for series 9 of Weekend Kitchen which has just been incredible – these dishes will blow your mind this autumn.

“To have our very first ever book together to go alongside it will make this series extra special too, we really cannot wait to reveal more soon!”

Lisa Faulkner added: “We are so happy to be back for another brilliant series.

“Weekend Kitchen never feels like work for us which is why we love it so much.

“We adore putting together these new dishes and now to have all of our favourite recipes and more in one book fills me with such joy.”

John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen will return to its Saturday morning slot on ITV1 and ITVX.

Meanwhile, The Sun recently revealed how channel bosses axed Laura Whitmore and Oti Mabuse’s weekend chat shows.

Dancing On Ice judge Oti, 33, hosted her series on Saturdays while Irish presenter Laura, 38, fronted her Sunday show.

Both breakfast programmes were named after the stars and featured celebrity guests and live music.
