During last weekend’s episode, Ralf Little‘s character Neville could be seen ready to board a flight after making the decision to leave Saint Marie.

It appears as though his fate has been sealed but could another game-changing twist be on the way?

New first-look pictures have shown that Neville will still be around in the final episode but could he be taking someone else with him?

He can be seen sharing an impactful hug with Florence Cassell, played by Josephine Jobert.

The moment takes place on the beach ahead of his impending exit which could suggest he did not board the plane.

Will Florence just be saying her goodbyes to the DI or will she actually end up accompanying him as he flees for good.

BBC viewers have been left rattled by the revelation that the show’s leading star could be gone for good and have shared a slew of messages online calling for him to remain on the island.

With the BBC teasing that fans need their “tissues handy”, one fan exclaimed: “TELL ME HE GOT OFF THE PLANE!!”

As someone else penned: “I swear if he got on that plane..”

In the last episode, fans have watched the unlucky-in-love character had his heart broken by the lying Zoe (Taj Atwal). And before that, Neville was separated from Florence (Joséphine Jobert) when she was placed in witness protection.

During a heart to heart with Sergeant Naomi Thomas (Shantol Jackson), Neville revealed that he feels it’s time to travel away from the island to meet a new life partner.

But as he made his plans to leave, Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) delivered the news that Florence was heading back home.

Neville and Florence shared a brief reunion on video chat. Telling Florence of his plans, Neville said: “I am at the airport, I just had my leaving drinks. The Commissioner made a little speech, broadly complimentary, it’s the nicest he’s ever been to me. The only thing missing was you.”

“I am sorry,” Florence replied, but Neville interrupted: “No need to apologise, not your fault.”

After hanging up, Neville went to board his flight to Dominica.
