Fan was one goal away from £102,000 win on incredible four-fold

A fan was just a single goal away from turning a tenner into £102,000 on Wednesday night.

Although Boxing Day had the bulk of the action, there was a load of football on across the United Kingdom on the 27 December.

There were three games in the Premier League, with Everton hosting Manchester City, Chelsea taking on Crystal Palace and Wolves taking a trip to Brentford.

One punter attempted to guess the results of four fixtures, including two matches in Scotland, in an ambitious four-fold.

He staked a tenner with Bet365, with the pay-out standing at more than £100,000 with the odds accumulated.

City were overwhelming favourites against Everton and came from behind to win 3-1, with Phil Foden playing a starring role.

@Andrewmac_97 had that result to a tee and also correctly predicted a 2-1 victory for Chelsea – achieved by a late Noni Madueke penalty.

What’s more, Andrew went for a 0-0 between Livingston and St Johnstone and a stalemate was indeed the outcome.

However, it was the Edinburgh derby which let Andrew down and denied him a life-changing amount.

Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland scored a 93th minute winner away at Hibs, sparking some incredible scenes in the away end at Easter Road.

But Andrew needed a 2-0 win for the Jambos. He couldn’t have been much closer, however, as Shankland missed his first penalty at the 16th attempt for Hearts in the first half.

He hit the post, while not long after Hibs’ Callum Boyle saw a spot-kick tipped onto the bar by Zander Clark.

Andrew took to X to post a screenshot of his slip, with the caption, “I will never forgive you Hearts”.

The post has accrued a whopping 1.2 million views and over 7,000 likes.
