Coronation Street’s Paul Foreman makes heartbreaking confession about his plan to end his own life

CORONATION Street’s Paul Foreman has made a heartbreaking confession about his plan to end his own life.

The builder – who is played by actor Peter Ash in the ITV soap – has motor neurone disease and has been slowly losing the ability to use his body.

Paul has revealed how he will tell Billy it’s time he wants to end his life in heartbreaking scenes

Viewers have watched this week as Paul’s speech began to slur, a sign that he will soon no longer be able to speak or swallow food and drink.

The revelation hit him hard as husband Billy and the rest of his family have been insisting he was fine, terrified of what was coming.

Billy admitted to Summer how he kept lying because of Paul’s plan to end his own life before his suffering became too great.

She was devastated and she confronted Paul, but he reassured her and encouraged her to take up her opportunity to study in America for the summer.

Paul assured Summer that he wouldn’t take any action while she was in America studying, but later he told Billy that he would say goodbye to her before it was time.

“I wouldn’t leave without saying goodbye to her,” he told his husband.

“I’m sorry this has been so hard on you. The not knowing. So me being a genius, I’ve come up with a cunning plan.

“When the day has come and I’m ready to go, I’ll play this song as a signal. [Oh Happy Day].

“So whether I can talk or not, you’ll know it’s time.”

Billy was shocked at Paul using their wedding song to signal that he was ready to die, but Paul explained why.

He told him: “This song reminds me of the best day of my life and if you really believe what you say then it will be a happy day for me.
