Fans that tuned in to the show on Wednesday night were left rocked to see Dylan Wilson, played by Liam McCheyne, bundled into the back of a car by his mum Violet after his wayward behaviour.

Violet, played by Jenny Platt, reappeared on the show after 16 years after being left horrified to discover that Dylan was caught up in gang bullying and knife crime.

Violet only found out when Eileen called her to have a go for not being supportive of Dylan – and filled her in.

With Dylan pleading guilty in court for the knife crime, Violet told Sean that he had no excuse for not telling her and that he had failed as a parent.

As a result – she was taking Dylan back to London with her.

“I need to get him away from here before things get any worse, I’m taking him back to London,” she said.

Fans sobbed as they watched Dylan break down in the back of a cab as Violet insisted he move back to London.

Now Coronation Street viewers have been left begging for an immediate comeback after being caught off-guard by the sudden exit.

Dylan actor Liam shared a snap of him and Jenny on Instagram in which he said: “Violet’s back! In my opinion, she wasn’t the best pleased to see Dylan.

“Quite the opposite to this lovely picture.”

Underneath, fans littered the comments as they pleaded for him to not disappear for too long.

One said:  “I can’t believe you’ve left..I liked you living with Sean x”

Another added: “Liam please don’t leave coronation street if you leave then I will stop watching it.”

A third went on to say: “Please tell me you are coming back your a great actor and the future of corrie”

Whilst a fourth penned: “Great actor. Hope to see you back soon.”
